Detailed Simulations of a Three-Stage Supercritical Carbon Dioxide Axial Compressor with a Focus on the Shrouded Stator Cavities Flow

This paper describes the findings of detailed simulations performed to investigate impact seal teeth cavity leakage flow on aerodynamic and thermal performance a three-stage supercritical CO2 axial compressor. The study compares shrouded stator configuration (with cavities) cantilevered (without highlight their differences. High-fidelity computational fluid dynamics were using non-linear harmonic (NLH) mixing plane assumptions, considering various possible rotor/stator interface configurations for calculations. key parameters each case compared, best-performing selected further analysis. individual stage are also examined compared between configurations.
